Bible Teaching on Prophecy

Prophecy is one of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit as spoken of in I Corinthians 12:10.  Prophecy is a revelation gift.  There are no new prophetic words being added to the Holy Scriptures today.  But the Lord still speaks to His Church and to each of us individually through the Gift of Prophecy and the written Scriptures. The Lord still communicates to His Church, His callings, confirmations and instructions as to His purpose for us in our part in bringing into this earth His Kingdom. We all have a part; we are all a part of the Body of Christ when we receive Jesus into our hearts. The gifts and callings of God are without recompense. In other words, everything the Lord has for us in the way of talents  comes into us at the moment of conception . (I heard John Paul Jackson say recently on TV, that those gifts and callings become a part of us at conception but many people never give the workings of those callings to the Church.)  They are given to the World.  All gifts come from the creator, Father God.  They do not come from any other spirit.  But the other spirit working in that spiritual realm can and does entice us to use them for the lust of the flesh. The World System is where the evil one is working through the unregenerate soul of man.
The Bible tells us that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).  Even though you may have been born again and you have the Holy Spirit within and are sealed by Him in your spirit, the soul is not saved, it is being saved daily.  It is a progression, as you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you into all righteousness.  The flesh is to be saved at the resurrection. We are a trinity ourselves.  We are three parts.  Spirit, soul, and body.  During this period that we are in, the time of the Gentiles, the time of the Church, we are all  being saved in our souls.  If you have not noticed before, your soul is in a battle to your born again spirit.  As Juanita Bynum taught us at her conference recently, you and I have to kill our soul and flesh, to respond to the teaching of the Word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit within and
obey it.  The soul has been in charge all of our lives, and fights submission to the Spirit of God within our born again spirit. The soul has three parts; mind, will, and emotions.  The will resists obedience to the spirit.  It has to be regenerated by the Word of God through our  spirit or inner-man as it is sometimes referred to.
I was crying out to the Lord please Lord communicate to me your directions in a situation that I was concerned with  After praying during two different nights in the wee hours, the Lord spoke this scripture to me about 3:00 AM the second morning. "If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land." (Isaiah 1:19).
When you hear scripture in your mind, it is the Lord speaking to you and it is coming from your spirit up to your mind. He wants to communicate with us and He always speaks to us by using His word that we have available to us through the written word, the Holy Bible.
He also will speak to us in dreams.  That is another medium He uses and I won't elaborate on that for now. But I do want you to know and understand that He does speak to us when we are seeking Him with all diligence concerning the important things of life and when we are desperate to hear from Him,  He will speak His Word, many times exactly as it is the Bible.
That is why it is so important that we read His  Word daily.  For when you are familiar with His Word, and it comes to your mind, you can be sure it is God speaking to you.  The Lord always will speak in such a way that the written Word, the Bible verse, will be your confirmation.
In the fall of 1981 my first husband and I were visiting in Tempe, AZ, where our oldest son and his family lived.  We were in our Travel Trailer in a Park on a Sunday morning listening to Kenneth Copeland and after Copeland, Pastor Richard Jackson, of the North  Phoenix Baptist Church.  My husband left  our little travel trailer and I began to clean up our breakfast dishes.  When  all of a sudden
