2 Kings 17:13
The LORD warned Israel and Judah through all his prophets and seers: "Turn from your evil ways. Observe my commands and decrees, in accordance with the entire Law that I commanded your fathers to obey and that I delivered to you through my servants the prophets." 14But they would not listen and were as stiff-necked as their fathers, who did not trust in the LORD their God. 15They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their fathers and the warnings he had given them. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the LORD had ordered them, "Do not do as they do," and they did the things the LORD had forbidden them to do. 16They forsook all the commands of the LORD their God and made for themselves two idols cast in the shape of calves, and an Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the starry hosts, and they worshiped Baal. 17They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire. They practiced divination and sorcery and sold themselves to do evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to anger. 18So the LORD was very angry with Israel and removed them from his presence. Only the tribe of Judah was left, 19and even Judah did not keep the commands of the LORD their God. They followed the practices Israel had introduced. 20Therefore the LORD rejected all the people of Israel; he afflicted them and gave them into the hands of plunderers, until he thrust them from his presence. ************************************************* Many times we are afflicted by trials and tribulations because of disobedience to the Word of God. We are not to worship anything but the Lord God Almighty. Anything that we put ahead of God in our lives has become an idol or something that means more to us than the Lord God. God doesn't bring the trials or tribulations but they come as a result of neglecting Him. You see, it opens the door to another spirit, that believes we have invited him into our lives. That spirit is Satan and the demons that assist him in his attempt to destroy our lives. We were created to worship God. If we do not, then we are serving another spirit, and he takes over our lives and we begin to have all kinds of troubles. Serving the Lord and acknowledging him as our Lord will keep us protected when we are attacked. Salvation through Jesus Christ is our covering from being overcome by the enemy, Satan. With Jesus Christ in us we have the power to rebuke Satan, and cast him away from us. The Scriptures tells us that we can bind him in the name of Jesus and he is bound by that name and has to leave us alone. You see, all power and authority was given to Jesus by His Father and your Father, Jehovah God. In the name of Jesus we can defeat everything the enemy tries to destroy us with by binding him in Jesus name. We have that power as the Children of God. If you are having troubles today, then submit yourself to the Lord and ask forgiveness and He will forgive you. Jesus Christ is your advocate and is ever making intercession for you before the Father. He will never leave you or forsake you. AMEN.
